The first Grammy Awards for musical recordings were awarded in 1958 by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in Burbank, California. The winning single recording was Nel Blu DiPinto Di Blu (Volare) by Domenico Modugno. The winning album was The Music from Peter Gunn by Henry Mancini.
